RUSKIN, FL – A gang of hoodie-wearing car thieves are preying on the Belmont subdivision at County Road 672 and U.S. 301 in Ruskin. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has released images of the thieves and is asking anyone with information to contact the sheriff's office. The thefts occurred around 2 a.m. on May 13. Three of the thieves were captured on surveillance cameras attempting to enter cars and walking through the neighborhood. They fled the subdivision in the stolen cars that have since been recovered. Two are black, one is white.They are about 16 to 24 years old. The white man is short, about 5 feet 2 inches tall and 150 pounds. The black men are 6 feet and 5 feet 9 inches tall, 190 pounds and 170 pounds, respectively. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200.
