Introducing Emily Fogle, keeper of the dragons

As a dreamer of sorts, I love meeting other authors with such vivid imaginations.  That is a perk of the business, coming across those who allow your already vivid mind to go beyond limitations.  That is how I felt when I met Emily Fogle, author of the incredible book, 'Dragon Wars'.  Emily already has this warm-hearted nature, the kind that people draw to.  When you read her book, you realize that underneath that lovely exterior, lives the heart of imagination at its best.  I read 'Dragon Wars' because I kept hearing amazing things about it.  I am such an avid reader, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book.  From page one I was hooked.  I was immediately immersed into this beautiful world Emily had written.  I fell in love with the main character, Danny, and wanted, in a way, to be him and take that journey.  That is the aspect of a great book.  One that is so amazingly well-written that you almost feel like it is you meeting dragons, protecting them and becoming one with the story word by word.  I won't spoil the plot for those who haven't read it.  I hope you will all take my word and read it for yourselves.  You'll love it so much that you will hog it, and then let your kids read it too.  A truly amazing adventure.

As always, when I talk about a book, I like to tell you a little bit about the author.  So after speaking with her, this is what I learned in the words spoken by Emily herself:

"Growing up, my imagination was always one of my best friends.  I was the dorky kid that sat alone and drew in the dirt with a stick.  There was always something going on inside my head, so I was never lonely.  I'd come up with bizarre games and weird stories with intricate background details.  That young, I didn't realize that these were the stepping stones to my writing journey.  Although I wrote poems at nine, it wasn't until college and an inspirational professor that I realized I wanted to delve deeper into my creative side and give it the attention that it had been screaming for.

Fantasy will always have a special place in my heart.  I grew up completely emerged in all things odd from Stephen's King's Cat's Eye to novels like The Last Unicorn.  I have always loved the thought of being immersed in a world completely driven by imagination.  That is what writing offers me.  I can live with the dragons, fly on a slave capturing ship through space and give myself a few hours of peace.  I'm so blessed to have found a publisher with Anchor Group that allows me to share my work.  There is never a day I don't cherish with the time that my son and I spend playing and making up our own stories."

I truly appreciated Emily opening up into her world for us to get to know her better.  I know anyone who reads this book will beg for more lovely stories from this author.
