Jet Ski Mishap Kills 1, Injures 1 On Alafia River
A crash between a jet ski and a boat pulling a tube sent one person to the hospital and killed another, said FWC spokesman Bryce Phillippi.
RIVERVIEW, FL — The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating a boating accident that killed one person and injured another about 7 p.m. Sunday in the Alafia River just east of Interstate 75 in Hillsborough County. Law enforcement believes a boat pulling a tube with two people on top of it collided with a jet ski, reports WTSP.
Two people were riding on top of the tube as a boat pulled it when it the mishap occurred, authorities said.
"One person on the tube was taken to an area hospital for treatment, while the other person was killed," said Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokesman Bryce Phillippi.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has not released the name of the deceased or the victim who was taken to the hospital. Nor is any other information available about those involved in the incident.
