Lesson Learned: If You Steal It, Be Careful Where You Sell It

A Zephyrhills man is facing burglary charges after being accused of stealing a bicycle and then posting it for sale on Facebook.

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL – A Zephyrhills man is facing burglary charges after being accused of stealing a bicycle and then posting it for sale on Facebook.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff, the victim had his $200 bike stolen off his locked screen porch March Wednesday, March 28. Shortly after, he saw his bike for sale on the Facebook Marketplace page for $65. The victim contacted the seller, Michael Shane Bracknell, 27, of 5811 19th St. D, Zephyrhills, and pretended to agree to meet him at Wal-Mart to buy the bike.

The victim then contacted sheriff’s deputies who arrested Bracknell when he rode into the Wal-Mart parking lot on the stolen bike.
