LITHIA, FL -- In honor of Earth Month, preschoolers at The Goddard School in Lithia participated in the ninth annual Root for Earth initiative. While the children learn about eco-friendly topics throughout the year, during Earth Month the children learn about the environment and what it means to be a good environmental steward.

During this year’s Root for Earth campaign, preschoolers engaged in a month-long upcycling challenge where they collected single-use plastics that come into the classroom (plastic bags, utensils, etc.) and used the items to create an art installation at the end of the month. This year’s theme was sea creatures.

Additionally, the students engaged in a range of eco-friendly activities inspired by STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) to foster creativity and imagination while giving children the opportunity to learn about recycling, going green and preserving the world around them.
