I am truly enjoying being able to tell the world about these amazing authors and books. I wonder sometimes, what the world might have been like without books. I sigh realizing that would be an awful thing. Books allow us to go on a journey into and beyond the imagination. Book lovers like myself understand how easy it is to become attached to characters in great reads, so attached in fact that we feel a loss when that book comes to an end. Thus, the popularity of a great series is a lovely thing. Charles Dickens had it right when he wrote portions of stories at a time, breaking them up, allowing the reader to get accustomed to the characters, then he would leave them wanting more. Perhaps he was onto the great invention of authors writing books in a series.
I do not deny that I love books like the Twilight Series where we know, love and want more from the characters. (Don't judge). Part of that love though is the way the author writes. If I love the way an author connects, then I usually read more of their books whether in a series or not.
On that note, I want to continue to introduce the world to authors, but also want to pop in and introduce myself every now and then.
Everything I've written thus far is about The Stone Sisters, who just happen to be my little girls. Don't get me wrong, I've journeyed out into other characters and am having fun exploring other medias of writing, but for now my passion has been writing what I know, and what I know is three little munchkins named Brooke, Alexis and Savannah. Anyone who knows or reads my books knows The Stone Sisters. I love writing them into characters, taking them on journeys unimaginable, and introducing them to the world. Another aspect of writing though that I love is when you are acknowledged as a writer/illustrator. I write for love, but admit it feels pretty darn amazing when I realize people are actually reading my work. Little old me. The more I put into my work, the more people respond, and I couldn't be happier about it. With that, I am thrilled when they get listed as best sellers on Amazon. I've been fortunate to see this a few times, and now with latest book/shameless plug...my newest book is 'My Little Cheerleader', and was listed/ranked today on Amazon as #92 in the top 100 best selling children's books based on feeling/emotion. My heart leaps any time I notice these numbers, because I again sit in awe that my work is being appreciated. So, I say thank you with a giant hug that I throw out into cyber space, and out to all of those who believe in me. I will continue putting out new stories as long as my imagination remains in tact and as long as you all continue to read.
Until next time, happy reading/writing!!!
