Man Killed In Head-On Crash With Semi Truck On U.S. 301

WIMAUMA, FL -- A 22-year-old Mulberry man was killed Tuesday morning in a head-on accident with a tractor-trailer truck at U.S. 301 and Lenfred Drive in Wimauma.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Tyler Andrew White was driving a Ford Focus north on U.S. 301, approaching the intersection of Lenfred Drive at 7:40 a.m. April 30.

Cresencio Ivan Carmona, 45, of Lakeland, was driving a semi truck south on U.S. 301 when White attempted to pass multiple vehicles by driving north in the southbound lane.

He collided nearly head on with the semi truck.

He was transported to the hospital where he died of his injuries.

The crash closed all lanes of U.S. 301 until 2 p.m.
