Man Killed While Driving Wrong Way On U.S. 301 In Riverview

RIVERVIEW, FL — A 45-year-old St. Petersburg man has died following a wrong-way crash Thursday night on U.S. 301 south of Bloomingdale Ridge Drive in Riverview.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, around 10 p.m. Anthony Leonard Shaw was driving an Acura south in the northbound lanes of U.S. 301 when he crashed head on into a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Deborah T. Fordom, 62, of Riverview.

Shaw died at the scene. Fordom was taken to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries.

Troopers are still trying to determine why Shaw was driving the wrong way.
