Marine Units Find Body Of Missing Boater On Alafia River
Rescue teams have found the body of a missing boater on the Alafia River.

RIVERVIEW, FL -- Rescue teams have recovered the body of a missing boater in the Alafia River.
Authorities say Brent Davis, 41, fell overboard and drowned when his boat hit a section of bridge near the Williams Park Boat Ramp on the Alafia River. The boat was traveling toward the bay at about 1:30 a.m. Monday, June 11.
The accident occurred before dawn on Monday, June 11. Sheriff's divers searched the waters for several hours before locating Davis' body a short distance from the boat ramp.

There were two passengers aboard the boat, Steven Cannon, 33, and his 12-year-old son, Carson, who were also thrown into the water. Cannon refused treatment. His son was taken to Tampa General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators are still trying to determine what happened.
