My own personal Wizard of Oz...the woman behind the curtain, Editor and Friend-Melissa Ringsted

Some days you have to sit and wonder how your paths cross with the people in your lives. Whether it's meeting friends that last forever, or friends that cross our paths for a short stint, friendships come in all forms these days. I have a best friend in a husband. I have a best friend that I met when I was ten. I have best friends today, some I've known for years, and others for less. Whatever the reason these friends came into my life, I know one thing...I am grateful.
With all of today's modern technologies, making friends is not what it used to be. But for that I am thankful. You see, though most of my closest friends I met the old fashioned way, I am so happy that I have met some of the greatest people through today's technology, the computer. That leads me to how I met one of the kindest souls and hardest workers I know, my editor. I recall the first time we were introduced through email. I signed onto Anchor Group Publishing, and was so excited when I noticed an email from "Melissa Ringsted, Editor." Well, I was really excited and very nervous. She contacted me so quickly after I signed on with the Publisher, and was already so impressed at the professionalism and courtesy the Publisher had shown, that I didn't know what to expect. It is easier than one thinks to read someone's tone through email, and from the start I knew somehow that this editor was special. I could literally feel her smile and warmth through words. You would think that most editors should be like that, kind and friendly, especially through words, but there was something very special here. She was so welcoming, and after exchanging emails, I knew even more that signing with Anchor Group was an amazing decision.
I am happy to introduce the world to this amazing person, someone who I now feel that I can not only call editor, but friend.
Here is some information about my editor, Melissa.
"Who I am: Melissa Ringsted, CEO of There for You Editing and VP of Anchor Group Publishing
What I do: Edit all of the books for Anchor Group, help with marketing, edit indie authors for There for You Editing, help to promote their work as well.
Why I do what I do: I love it, and feel that indie authors shouldn't have to struggle or go without editing, so I make it affordable.
I love editing because I can help take the authors piece and polish it ... make it shine. I can show the author new things, such as changing repetitive words or sentence structure. I adore my clients. I have numerous friends who started out as clients, and more than half of my clients are "repeat customers". To date, I've edited over a hundred indie books.

Now that I've been fortunate enough to tell you about this wonderful editor, I will happily share her with you all. She is gifted, talented, brilliant with words, and beyond compare to any editor I have ever known. If anyone ever needs an editor, she is highly recommended.
She is not just an editor, she is the woman behind the curtain (her quote), but to authors, she is just as vital to the books she edits as the authors themselves. She is my own personal Wizard of Oz.
