Naked Man Arrested For Biting Neighbor, Attacking Cops: Sheriff

BLOOMINGDALE-RIVERVIEW, FL — A naked 21-year-old man in Riverview was arrested after he attacked his neighbors on Hillcrest Drive on the early morning of Memorial Day, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's office said in a news release.

The person who called police reported Isaiah Velez bit an elderly neighbor's ear and tried to stab him with broken glass, a news release said. When deputies responded, they saw Velez walking down the street without clothes.

When officers tried to speak with Velez, he attacked officers, who used tasers, police said. Officers suffered minor injuries, and Velez was medically cleared by Hillsborough County Fire rescue after they checked for injuries.

"The suspect refused to obey the verbal commands from our deputies," said Sheriff Chad Chronister in the news release. "This is the kind of situation our deputies face daily when protecting the citizens of Hillsborough County. I want to thank these deputies for remaining calm in a difficult situation like this one. This man faces numerous felony charges and remains in jail at this time."

Velez was charged with several felonies and taken to jail.

Charges filed against him include:

• Attempted burglary of an occupied dwelling
• Criminal mischief $200 or less
• Aggravated assault with deadly weapon
• Resisting officer with violence
• Grand theft motor vehicle
• Lewd and Lascivious Behavior
• Battery (Victim over 65)
• Battery on a law enforcement officer.
