No More Parties At Sunshine Skyway North Rest Area Park
The Florida Highway Patrol has called a halt to nighttime gatherings at the Sunshine North Rest Area Park.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- The party's over at the Sunshine Skyway North Rest Area Park.
Following several large, out-of-control parties at the rest stop on the Pinellas County side of the bridge, the Florida Highway Patrol has called a halt to nighttime gatherings.
Beginning this week, the Sunshine Skyway North Rest Area Park and adjacent areas will be closed to the public from sunset to sunrise. The Florida Department of Transportation has made it official by placing barrier gates and posting warning signs.

And this weekend, troopers will strictly enforce the new rules, promising to hand out tickets to anyone who trespasses after sunset.
The closing of the park ends 30 years of late-night parties that attracted hundreds of people including one over the summer that was attended by an estimated 3,000 people and had party-goers parking illegally near the Interstate 275 off-ramp.
