Photos Released of Suspect Car in Home Invasion Shooting

Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies are looking for help identifying suspects in the case.

As the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a Riverview home invasion that ended with a teenage boy getting shot, the agency has released photos of the suspects’ car.

According to deputies, the two men involved in the Friday morning crime fled the scene in a light green Volkswagen Beetle.

The incident unfolded around 2:47 a.m. when a 14-year-old boy home alone on Deep Maple Drive began to hear noises coming from downstairs. The teen proceeded to walk down the stairs to investigate the noises when he was approached by two males wearing masks, the agency wrote in an email to media.

The men shot at the boy four times, the email said.

“The victim ran back up the stairs and hid in a closet,” the email said. The men are then accused of taking electronics from the home. They then fled out a back sliding glass door, across a neighbor’s yard and into the Volkswagen.
