Reward Offered in Stolen Tricycle Case

Someone swiped the trike from a disabled Riverview girl's home.

As Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies continue their search for the person responsible for stealing a disabled 6-year-old’s tricycle, Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a $3,000 reward in the case.

The tricycle in question is red and has two small 10-inch tires and one larger front tire. The seat is “go cart-style” and has shoulder strap belts.

“It is steered and peddled by hand and described as larger than a regular child tricycle,” an email from the sheriff’s office to media stated. “It has a tray platform to place the child’s feet on with no foot pedals. The seat is red and has white writing on the trike.”

The trike belonged to a little girl named Deshawn who had it given to her by the Shriners, the sheriff’s office noted. It has an estimated value of more than $500.

The tricycle was stolen from the front foyer of the girl’s home sometime between June 3 and 4, the sheriff’s office said.
