Riverview To Celebrate Opening Of Spurlino Family YMCA Jan. 10
More than 600 people are expected to turn out for the much-anticipated opening of the Spurlino Family YMCA at Big Bend Road in Riverview.

RIVERVIEW, FL -- More than 600 people are expected to turn out for the much-anticipated opening of the Spurlino Family YMCA at Big Bend Road in Riverview.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place Thursday, Jan. 10 at 5:30 p.m. followed by a free celebration from 6 to 8 p.m. featuring family games, group exercise classes, arts and crafts, a DJ pool deck party, giveaways and complimentary tastings from Publix Aprons Cooking School, Open Fire Grilled Brazilian and Docho's Latin Bistro.
This is the newest Tampa Y to be built in 18 years. Among those attending will be members of the YMCA Governance Board, chamber of commerce representatives and members of the Hillsborough County Commission.

The Spurlino Family YMCA at Big Bend Road, 9650 Old Big Bend Road, Riverview, is named for the lead donor, the Spurlino family.
The state-of-the-art Y includes 32,500 square feet of indoor space plus an outdoor aquatic center complete with a lap pool and family fun pool offering a zero-depth entry and play features.

The $16.4 million project was built in collaboration with the Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners.
