Riverview Chamber Of Commerce Welcomes New President

Michelle Mosher has replaced Sharon Roush as president of the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce.

RIVERVIEW, FL -- The Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce has a new president at its helm.

Michelle Mosher has replaced Sharon Roush who resigned as president of the chamber as well as her position as chief executive officer of South Bay Hospital. She has accepted a another position in hospital administration.

Roush served on the chamber's board of directors for 8 1/2 years.

Mosher, owner of Southshore Insurance Professionals, will serve as chamber president for the remainder of 2018 and 2019. Mike Jones of World's Finest Chocolate will advance to the role of president-elect in preparation for his presidency in 2020.

Mosher first began working in the insurance field in 1994 as a medical claims specialist in Tampa. She obtained her property and casualty insurance license in 1996 in Maryland where she worked for a State Farm agent prior to opening her own State Farm Agency in 2002 in East Haven, Connecticut.

Mosher became licensed to write insurance in Florida and began working as an insurance agent for a local agency in 2012. It was through this agency that Mosher became a member of the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce in 2012.

In March 2014, she left that agency to start her own company, Southshore Insurance Professionals.

Since then, Mosher has written insurance policies covering personal and real property, businesses and events in more than 30 Florida counties.

In addition to her involvement with the Riverview chamber, Mosher serves on the board of directors for the South County Spartans Athletic Program, a youth sports league serving children in the South Shore area. She is also a long-standing member of the South Shore Business Association.

Additionally, Southshore Insurance Professionals are a frequent sponsor for community events including golf tournaments, fishing tournaments, Teaching to Excellence and the Riverview Relay for Life.

Mosher has received the 2005 Connecticut Business Times 40 under 40 award, the 2010 Great Florida Insurance Professional of the Year award, the Riverview Chamber Ambassador of the Year award, the 2016 IAOA Collaborative Insurance Agent award and, most recently, the 2017 Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year award.

When not working or volunteering, Mosher enjoys spending time with her husband, Todd, her teenage stepdaughter, Elise, and her dogs, Lilly and Cocoa.
