The Brooksville shelter has been criticized since employees euthanized an 8-month-old pit bull 15 minutes after a relative of the dog's owner brought it in earlier this month, the Lakeland Ledger reports.

Dalessandro is thought to have made similar threats in 2001 against an Iowa man accused of animal cruelty, according to TBO.
