Riverview Man Seriously Injured in Veterans Expressway Crash

A 40-year-old Riverview man is in serious condition at a local hospital following a single-vehicle crash along the Veterans Expressway near Gunn Highway.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Christopher William Haan was heading southbound in the outside lane around 10:11 a.m. when his vehicle hit a crash attenuator on the Gunn Highway overpass. His pickup truck overturned and crossed the southbound lanes and the center median before traveling over a concrete construction barrier.

Haan was seriously injured in the wreck that tied up traffic along the expressway for a time Monday morning.

He was cited for careless driving.
