Riverview Resident Taken into Custody in Connection With Plant City Homicide

Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies, with the help of the SWAT Team, have taken Donald R. Carr, 56, into custody at his home at 1821 Amberwood Dr., Riverview, following a stand-off with deputies this afternoon.

Carr had barricaded himself in his home on Amberwood off Bloomingdale Avenue. Crisis negotiators facilitated his surrender. 

Once Carr has been interviewed, he will be booked into the Hillsborough County Jail for second-degree murder in connection with a homicide at 4112 Turkey Creek Rd., Plant City, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. The homicide victim is Harold Lafever, 69.
