On Sunday, June 9, at 3:30 p.m., Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office responders attended to a vehicle-size holed that opened up underneath Lithia-Pinecrest and George Smith roads in Lithia.
Hillsborough County road maintenance crews arrived shortly after and indicated
that the hole is not a sinkhole, but a washout from a broken pipe, according to the sheriff's report on the incident.
Crews were on scene to fill in the hole with dirt.
