Fire Leaves Valrico Family Homeless

A family of six has been left homeless following a fire at a house Monday in the 900 block of Dixie Maid Lane in Valrico.

VALRICO, FL — A family of six has been left homeless following a fire at a house Monday in the 900 block of Dixie Maid Lane off East Lumsden Road in Valrico.

According to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, the fire broke out around 3:30 p.m. Fire crews arrived to find flames shooting through the roof of the single-story home.

Firefighters doused the fire in about 30 minutes.

There were no injuries but the Red Cross was called in to assist four adults and two children who were living in the home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
