Search For Missing Boater Suspended Until Wednesday

The adult male was last seen about two miles west of Little Harbor in Ruskin on Tuesday morning.

RUSKIN, FL – The U.S. Coast Guard, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission have suspended the search for a man who went missing in Tampa Bay waters Tuesday morning.

"Law enforcement personnel will evaluate the situation in the morning to determine if the search will resume," the sheriff's office wrote in an email to media Tuesday night.

According to the sheriff’s office, a man and woman were on a boat anchored in the Bay around 11:50 a.m. Tuesday when their anchor became stuck. The man jumped into the water to free the anchor, but never returned to the surface.
