Update: Water Main Break May Impact Riverview Traffic for a Few Days
The county anticipates the break to be repaired soon, but road resurfacing work could take a few days.

Motorists traveling along 78th Street in Riverview are likely to find the area between Madison Avenue and Riverview Drive closed to them.
That’s because of an early Wednesday water main break that forced closing of the roadway. Hillsborough County crews are expected to complete repairs on the main sometime on Wednesday, but road resurfacing work could take until the end of the week, depending on the weather, county spokeswoman Andrea Roshaven said.
Through traffic approaching this area is being detoured onto U.S. 301.

“Motorists should observe all road signs and detour routes, and use caution while navigating in the area around the repairs, especially near construction workers,” Roshaven said.
About 190 homes in the area are without water until repairs are made. These homes will be under a precautionary boil water notice once water service is restored. Affected homes will be notified individually by utility staff, Roshaven said.
