Sheriff Arrests Woman Who Reportedly Dragged Deputy With Car

Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a woman who reportedly dragged a deputy with her car.

RIVERVIEW, FL -- Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies have arrested for a woman who reportedly dragged a deputy with her car.

On Saturday, Sept. 1 at about 12:30 a.m., a Hillsborough County deputy was conducting a traffic stop at the intersection of U.S.l 301 South and Uncle Tom Road in Riverview.

The driver, Amber Griffin, 29, had an active bench warrant for failure to appear on a charge of possession of a firearm by a felong. Griffin repeatedly refused the deputy's order to exit her 2018 silver Kia Rio. The deputy took measures to remove Griffin from the car. While doing so, Griffin put the car in gear and sped off with the deputy partially in the car, dragging the deputy approximately 20 feet.
