The residents, management team and staff associates of Spring Hills Lake Mary Assisted Living and Memory Care were thrilled to learn that their residence has been named to the elite list of Caring Stars of 2014, which spotlights America's best assisted living and Alzheimer's care communities. These communities earned the highest praise from families, seniors, and eldercare experts during 2013 on Caring.com, a leading online service based in San Mateo, California which provides information and support to those who care for aging parents, spouses, and other loved ones.  The award was announced on January 28, 2014 and measures commentary and reviews submitted to the Caring.com website to identify the top 1% of assisted living and memory care communities nationwide each year.

This year's Caring Stars award was determined from consumer ratings and reviews posted on Caring.com between December 1, 2012, and December 1, 2013. To qualify, the community had to have received all of the following:

• Three or more reviews during the time frame, at least one of which with the highest rating of five stars
• An average overall rating (across all reviews on their listing) equaling greater than 4 stars
• No unresolved negative reviews
