St. Joseph's In Riverview Is Among Top 100 Hospitals: IBM

BLOOMINGDALE-RIVERVIEW, FL — St. Joseph's Hospital-South in Riverview has been named among the nation's top 100 hospitals by IBM Watson Health, a news release said.

IBM Watson Health annually identifies the top hospitals from an evaluation of 3,134 short-term, acute care, non-federal hospitals in the U.S. The list recognizes excellence in clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, patient experience and financial health.

“This recognition is hard evidence of the quality health care our hospital is providing to our communities,” said Phil Minden, president of St. Joseph’s Hospital-South in a news release. “Achieving this designation for the third time is a testament to the great work being done here by our team members and medical staff. We look forward to continuing the excellence as substantiated by the Watson Top 100 award.”

This is the third consecutive year that St. Joseph’s Hospitals has earned the honor and the fourth time overall. The four other hospitals included in the recognition with St. Joseph’s Hospital-South are St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital and St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital all in Tampa, and St. Joseph’s Hospital-North in Lutz.

BayCare, the parent of the St. Joseph’s Hospitals, is listed in the IBM Watson report among the top 20 percent of large health systems in the country. This is the second year in a row BayCare has been recognized among the top 20 percent.
