A 10-year-old girl received minor injuries in the crash.

RIVERVIEW, FL – A Ruskin man has been charged with careless driving after crashing into a school bus carrying 12 students.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Hillsborough County School District bus was traveling north on U.S. 41 approaching the railroad tracks just north of Riverview Drive at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9. As required by law, the bus driver activated the emergency lights on the bus and stopped before crossing the railroad tracks.
Troopers say Rasheeda B. Gerald, 22, of Ruskin, who was driving behind the bus, failed to stop when the bus slowed and activated the emergency lights. Gerald swung his car to the right to avoid colliding with the bus but struck the bus’ right rear section.
