Tampa Man Charged With DUI Manslaughter After Fiery Fatal Crash
A 24-year-old Tampa man has been arrested following a fiery fatal crash Saturday on South Westshore Boulevard and West Montgomery Avenue.

TAMPA, FL -- A 24-year-old Tampa man has been arrested following a fiery fatal crash Saturday on South Westshore Boulevard and West Montgomery Avenue.
According to Tampa Police, Nicholas J. Schreiber was traveling north in a Jeep Grand Cherokee on South Westshore at a high rate of speed on March 2 at 8:36 p.m. when he tried to overtake another vehicle in the left turn lane. The Jeep struck the raised median and several trees and shrubs before crossing over into the southbound lanes where it struck a Toyota Camry head on.
After the crash, both vehicles caught fire and became fully engulfed before being extinguished by Tampa Fire Rescue. A passenger in the Jeep died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the Toyota sustained minor injuries. Schreiber remained on the scene and admitted to consuming several alcoholic beverages, according to police.

Police verified this with a blood-alcohol test. He was charged with DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide and DUI property damage.
