Tampa Motorcyclist Killed When Pickup Truck Pulls Into Path

A motorcyclist was killed Thursday after colliding with a car at the intersection of Dacca Drive and Madison Avenue in Progress Village.

PROGRESS VILLAGE, FL -- A motorcyclist was killed Thursday after colliding with a car at the intersection of Dacca Drive and Madison Avenue in Progress Village.

On Jan. 3 at 7:47 a.m., Cindy Mobley, 55, of Tampa was driving a Ford F250 pickup truck south on Dacca Drive and stopped at a stop sign Madison Avenue.

Luis Antonio Serrano, 34, of Tampa was headed west on Madison Avenue behind a car on his Suzuki motorcycle, approaching Dacca Drive.

As the lead vehicle passed Mobley, she pulled out into the path of Santiago. She attempted to stop when she saw the motorcycle as Santiago swerved left and applied his brakes. However, Santiago was unable to avoid hitting Mobley's truck. Passersby performed CPR on Santiago but he died at the scene. . The motorcycle struck the left side of the truck. Citizens nearby called 9-1-1 and rendered aid by performing CPR. Santiago died at the scene.
