Teacher's Aide Arrested For Alleged Sexual Molestation

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – A 29-year-old teacher's aide at a public charter school in Wimauma was arrested for suspected molestation of a female, 13, in the back of a classroom over a four-month period, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said today.

Sonny Juarez, a Wimauma resident cuffed on suspicion of lewd or lascivious molestation with a child, was employed with the RCMA Wimauma Academy on South Highway 301 when several sex incidents with the child occurred between November 2016 and March, the agency said.

The RCMA Wimauma Academy serves grades kindergarten through grade five, while the RCMA Leadership Academy, also a Hillsborough County public charter school at 18236 S. Hwy 301, serves students in grades six through eight. Deputies did not disclose the victim's identification, connection to Juarez or whether she was a student at either facility.

The Sheriff's Office reported that over the four-month time frame, Juarez met the victim on several occasions at the back of the classroom and would have sexual contact with himself and then would use his hands to have sexual contact with the child.
