Driver Killed as SUV Overturns in Lithia-Pinecrest Rd. Crash
A 74-year-old Valrico man was ejected from his vehicle Wednesday morning.

The driver of an SUV was killed in a Wednesday morning accident that caused his vehicle to overturn on Lithia-Pinecrest Road, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reported.
Robert Chapman, 74, of Valrico, was heading southbound on Lithia-Pinecrest just south of Bloomingdale Avenue, at the entrance of Lithia Crossing Mall, when his 2005 Lexus SUV was struck by a pickup truck exiting the mall. The SUV was overturned, and Chapman was ejected.

He was transported to Brandon Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The case remains under investigation, the sheriff's office said.

Earlier:
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating an accident on Lithia-Pinecrest Road, just south of Bloomingdale Avenue at the entrance to the Chili's restaurant.
As of press time, an ambulance had transported the injured to the hospital. There were two cars involved, a pickup truck and a Lexus SUV. The Lexus remained overturned in the middle of Lithia-Pinecrest as deputies directed traffic through the Shoppes of Lithia.
There is no word on how many people were involved in the accident. Patch will keep you updated.
