WESLEY CHAPEL, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol discovered a hand grenade in a man's car after he was involved in an accident in Wesley Chapel.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 53-year-old George Stefanic was driving his 2015 Ford F150 west on State Road 56 west of Interstate 75 on Friday night, when he changed lanes and sideswiped a Toyota Camry.

When troopers arrived, they said Stefanic showed signs of intoxication, including the smell of alcohol on his breath, slurred speech and glassy, watery eyes.

After performing poor on a field sobriety test, troopers arrested him.

While doing an inventory of the pickup truck before it was towed, troopers said they found an open beer can and what appeared to be a hand grenade inside the truck.
