Troopers Seek Help Bringing Hit-And Run Driver To Justice

The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking the public's help to locate a hit-and-run driver who killed a pedestrian on Interstate 75 on June 29.

RUSKIN, FL — Nearly nine months after a Tampa man was killed while walking north on Interstate 75 near the Ruskin rest stop, the Florida Highway Patrol is renewing its search for the hit-and-run driver.

According to troopers, a black 2012-14 Volvo semi-tractor-trailer with a black bumper was traveling north on I-75 near milepost 238 on June 29 between 1 and 8:30 a.m. when it struck James A. Robinson, 50, of Tampa, who died at the scene.

The truck left behind a chrome right passenger mirror and lower fog lamps that officials from Volvo headquarters have identified as belonging to a tractor-trailer truck made by the company.
