I would start from the beginning, almost one year ago, but it's not nearly as exciting as what has transpired in the last three months. My neighbor hates me. I am not sure why. I befriended her almost from the start of her and her family moving in next door. She seemed bitter, unhappy, and distant. I thought, maybe she just needs a friend, so I decided to try and be that. I offered to help her with her children, I invited her to come over to my home when she was afraid of an impending hurricane, and I evern sent my own husband to help her with draining her pool or cutting her grass. She declined, of course, but I remained friendly, and tried to continue to invite her over.
I invited her and her children to my child's birthday party and they never showed up, instead she stood on her front walkway, glaring at my guests as they arrived.
The following week, I realized why she didn't like me. She got really mad at a political sign that we had in our yard, and slurred what her true feelings were towards me. I was hurt, I was insulted, I was at a loss for words. She told me I did not belong in her neighborhood, basically because I was different. She told me to go back to where I had come from.
From that day forward, she has made my life miserable.
