U.S. Mail Scattered Across Interstate Following Truck Accident
A tractor-trailer truck transporting mail collided with another tractor-trailer truck, causing mail to be scattered across Interstate 75.
APOLLO BEACH, FL — Traffic came to a stop on Interstate 75 just north of Big Bend Road Monday morning when a tractor-trailer truck transporting mail collided with another tractor-trailer truck, causing mail to be scattered across the southbound lanes of the highway.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 7:15 a.m., a truck driven by Michael A. Richardson, 58, of Charlotte, North Carolina, was traveling south on I-75, when he struck the rear of the trailer of another truck driven by Emmanuel K. Bellamy, 25, of Opa Locka, who was stopped on the paved shoulder with two flat tires. Bellamy was carrying produce and water in his truck.
The trailer of Richardson's truck was damaged, and the mail inside was strewn across the southbound lanes of Interstate 75.

Richardson was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital South with serious injuries.
