USF Wind Ensemble Concert, "Reach for the Stars"

Please join the USF Wind Ensemble for their final concert of the 2016 season.

The USF Wind Ensemble will be giving their final concert of the school term. It is entitled '"Reach for the Stars." The program will feature a magnificent transcription of the original score to the movie Star Wars. This challenging music is sure to bring back memories and imagery to any listener. We will also present a collaboration with the USF School of Dance to our performance of Duende by Luis S. Alarcon. Such an inter-college effort should provide excellent visual representation of equally excellent Latino music. Finally, we will be giving the Florida premiere of a new Symphony for band entitled Telelestai by Andrew Boss. Tetelestai - Greek for "It is finished!" is supposedly the last word that the man Christians praise as Jesus Christ, spoke among before his death. Mr. Boss, a graduate of Florida Southern College, is a bright and rising star among the many young composers who are producing so much excellent music for wind band. We hope that you will be able to join us for this very interesting evening of music making.

April 21, 2016 - USF Concert Hall Stage

From 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
