Vandals Use Bats, Bricks To Damage 33 Vehicles In Riverview
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is searching for the vandals who damaged more than 30 vehicles parking in a Riverview neighborhood.
RIVERVIEW, FL -- The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is searching for the vandals who damaged more than 30 vehicles parking in a Riverview neighborhood Monday, July 16.
At about 6:15 a.m., multiple residents in the South Cove subdivision of Riverview reported finding the windows of their vehicles smashed in.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered that at least 15 vehicles had broken windows and other substantial damage worthy of felony criminal mischief charges.

Throughout the day, the sheriff’s office received additional reports of damaged vehicles. By 2 p.m., a total of 33 vehicles were reported damaged. Most of the damage took place in the 11000 block of Misty Isle Lane and the 13000 block of Evening Sunset Lane.
One of the damaged vehicles was an Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office unit assigned to the court process section.

The vehicles appear to have been damaged with blunt objects, similar to a baseball bat, and solid objects, like masonry bricks.
Detectives, crime scene investigators, aviation and canine units responded to assist with the investigation.
Two teens or young adults were seen leaving one of the homes in a light-colored, possibly silver, four-door sedan.
The vehicle was captured on a home surveillance camera driving away.
Detectives are trying to confirm if the same individuals were involved in the criminal offenses.
