Crash Closes Lanes at Yamato Road and Northwest 2nd Avenue in Boca Raton (bocapost.com) — Drivers in central Boca Raton are being urged to avoid Yamato Road at Northwest 2nd Avenue after a crash forced multiple lane closures Tuesday afternoon. Boca Raton Police say the busy east–west corridor is experiencing congestion and delays, and residents should use alternate routes and watch for changing traffic patterns until the scene is cleared.
3. Shopper Charged With Stealing $867 Worth of Perfume From Boca Raton Store (bocadailynews.com) — A Miami man is accused of stealing high-end perfume from Saks Fifth Avenue at Town Center at Boca Raton, with Boca Raton police saying the loss totaled nearly $868 including tax. Store security tracked him from Saks to outside Nordstrom, where he was detained, and he now faces felony grand theft and remains in Palm Beach County Jail on bail.
4. Discover The Palm Beaches to host 2-day hospitality and tourism job fair in Lake Worth Beach & Greenacres (wptv.com) — Palm Beach County job seekers, including Boca Raton residents, can meet dozens of tourism and hospitality employers at free job fairs on Oct. 9 in Lake Worth Beach and Oct. 15 in Greenacres. Roles range from front desk and food service to management, with benefits and advancement potential, and Boca Raton Marriott at Boca Center is among the participating employers.
5. St. Gregory Holds Annual 'Blessing of the Pets,' Celebrating 800 Years of St. Francis (bocaratontribune.com) — St. Gregory's Episcopal Church in Boca Raton recently welcomed about 50 pets and their owners for its long-running Blessing of the Pets, tied to the legacy of St. Francis of Assisi. The annual October ceremony included prayers, individual blessings, and a collection drive supporting local animal organizations that help pets and wildlife across South Florida.
