Coconut Creek Students Donate Gifts to Local Children in Need

Chesterbrook Academy Preschool students collected more than 100 gifts for SOS Children's Village to fulfill the wishes of local children

Pre-K students from Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Coconut Creek recently donated more than 100 gifts to SOS Children’s Village, the world's largest nongovernmental organization dedicated to the care of orphaned and abandoned children. The donations were the result of the school’s giving tree program, during which students worked together to collect a variety of wish list items, including clothes, shoes and bedding to be given to local children during the holidays. At the end of the collection, students prepared the donations for delivery to the organization.

In addition to their gift drive for SOS Children’s Village, students collected nonperishable food items for Broward Outreach Center’s Pack the Pantry event, which helped provide more than 250,000 meals to the local homeless community. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of helping others and giving back to those in need.
