Couple Sues Condo Association For False Imprisonment: Reports
The couple, who tested positive for coronavirus, claim their condo association tried to force them to stay in their unit, reports said.
BOCA RATON, FL — A couple who owns a unit in the Palmetto Place at Mizner Park at 99 SE Mizner Blvd. in Boca Raton has filed a lawsuit against the condominium association for false imprisonment, invasion of privacy and negligence, CBS 12 News reported.
Nancy and Steven Iscowitz say that after they tested positive for coronavirus over the summer, the Palmetto Place at Mizner Park Condominium Association deactivated their key fobs and tried to force them to quarantine in their unit for two weeks, reports said. The couple said members of the association even entered their unit to make sure they didn’t leave and threatened to call police on them if they tried to.
The association and its management company, First Service Residential, filed a lawsuit against the couple over the summer in an attempt to order them to stay in their unit, reports said. They eventually dropped the suit.
