• Lightning strike kills mother and 2-year-old daughter in Broward County, Florida (watchers.news) — Severe storms moving from Boynton Beach toward Broward County led to a tragic lightning strike in Margate that killed a mother and her 2‑year‑old daughter, according to police and the National Weather Service. Around five minutes later, another child in Boynton Beach was hospitalized after a separate lightning strike, underscoring the danger of being outdoors during South Florida thunderstorms.
