17-Year-Old Boy Killed In Drug Deal Shooting: Sheriff
A 15-year-old boy was also injured in the Sunday night shooting in Myakka City, the sheriff's office said.
MYAKKA CITY, FL — A 17-year-old boy was killed and a 15-year-old boy injured in a drug deal shooting in Myakka City Sunday night, according to a news release from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
The teens planned to sell edible medical marijuana but were shot at by four male suspects when they got to their meeting location at Verna Bethany Road and State Road 64 East, the MCSO said. Investigators arrived at the scene around 11:49 p.m. on Sunday.
The 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, while the injured 15-year-old was flown to a local hospital, where he is in stable condition. MCSO said. The families of both victims have invoked Marsy’s Law, so their names won’t be publicly released.

MCSO has arrested three of the four suspects, who are 14, 17, 19 and 21 years old. Police are still seeking the 21-year-old suspect as the investigation continues.
