2 Dead, 1 Injured In Apparent Murder-Suicide

A Bradenton domestic dispute turned violent early Tuesday morning.

BRADENTON, FL — Two people are dead and one person was hospitalized after a dispute between an estranged couple turned violent early Tuesday morning.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called out to 12631 Daisy Place just after midnight Tuesday. When they arrived, they found Alicia Mahoney, 26, and her husband, David Mahoney, Jr., 32, dead. David Mahoney’s mother, Sharron, 55, was also suffering from gunshot wounds.

Deputies say David and Alicia were separated, but met at a restaurant Monday. The two became involved in a dispute there that ended when David left the restaurant and went to the Daisy Place home where he was living.

“A short time later, Alicia got a ride back to her in-laws’ residence,” the sheriff’s office wrote in a media release. “Alicia was greeted in the driveway by David.”

Deputies say the two went into the garage where they got into another argument. David, deputies said, went to the driveway and retrieved a firearm from a vehicle, returned to the garage and “fatally shot Alicia, then himself.”

David’s mother was standing behind Alicia at the time and suffered two gunshot wounds to her right foot, deputies say.
