2 Men Indicted In Drug-Related Robbery That Left 2 Dead In Valrico: DOJ

A Tampa man and Palmetto man shot were indicted in a drug-related robbery in Valrico that left two people dead, Department of Justice said.

TAMPA, FL — Two Florida men have been indicted for a drug-related robbery that left two people dead, according to a Department of Justice news release.

An indictment charging Jy’Quale Samari Grable, 20, of Tampa and Aquavious Smith, 19, of Palmetto with conspiracy and interference with commerce by robbery was unsealed Tuesday.

Grable was also charged with using a firearm in relation to a crime of violence causing the death of two victims, the DOJ said.

If convicted on all counts, Grable faces a maximum penalty of life in federal prison, and Smith faces a maximum penalty of 20 years’ imprisonment, the agency said.

According to court documents, on Dec. 22, 2020, Grable and Smith committed an armed robbery at an apartment complex in Valrico. During the robbery, Grable shot and killed two people on the back patio of the apartment.
