2-Year-Old Recovering After Eating Parents' Cocaine, Marijuana
A 2-year-old boy is out of the hospital and in the custody of his grandmother after eating cocaine and marijuana.

PALMETTO, FL -- A 2-year-old boy is out of the hospital and in the custody of his grandmother in Polk County he reportedly overdosed after eating cocaine and marijuana.
Manatee County paramedics responded to a call on May 14 at the Oakwood Estates Apartments on 21st Street East in Palmetto after Kierstyn Lapek, 23, said her son began having seizures and foaming at the month. Paramedics rushed the toddler to Manatee Memorial Hospital where a screening showed he ingested cocaine and marijuana.
After finding evidence of those drugs in the apartment, Manatee County Sheriff's detectives arrested Lapek and the boy's father, Devon Barendse, 28, on charges of child neglect with great bodily harm.

On Thursday, May 31, a judge said the couple will be allowed to visit their son.
