MANATEE COUNTY, FL — Six deputies with the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office were recognized for their rescue of a homeless man who was stuck in Bradenton’s Bowlees Creek for two days in November.

Deputies Tara Burge, Brittany Carannante, Ryan Emkey, Scott Fisher, Conner Gulash and Dwight Roberts received the Life Saving Award from the sheriff’s office Monday.

The deputies worked together to pull the man from the ravine and carried him 250 yards to EMS.
