61-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed In Manatee County Crash: FHP

A 61-year-old man died after being hit by a car near the intersection of U.S. 41 and Pearl Avenue Wednesday night, FHP said.

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — A 61-year-old Bradenton man died Wednesday night after being hit by a car in Manatee County, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.

The accident took place just north of the intersection at U.S. 41 and Pearl Avenue around 8:30 p.m.

The man, whose name hasn’t been made public, was walking in the northbound outside lane of Pearl Avenue as a car driven by a 28-year-old Bradenton woman traveled southbound in the outside lane of U.S. 41. The front of the car hit the man, killing him, troopers said.

The woman and a 1-year-old boy in the car with her weren’t injured in the crash, which remains under investigation, FHP said.
