7-Year-Old Palmetto Boy Killed When Pallets Fall On Him
A 7-year-old boy was killed Thursday, Aug. 9, in Palmetto after a stack of pallets fell on him.

PALMETTO, FL -- A 7-year-old boy was killed Thursday, Aug. 9, in Palmetto after a stack of pallets fell on him.
According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, Leonardo Chavez-Renteria was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital with trauma to his body. He later died.
The little boy who would have entered second grade next week was playing with a couple of other children at a storage area at 1805 20th St. E. in Palmetto. A forklift nearby was transferring pallets from a truck and accident dropped 15 to 20 pallets, which landed on the boy.
