Murray-Barnes and Lopez were stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of 14th Street W. (U.S. 41) and 53rd Avenue West in Bradenton on March 8 when McCary pulled his vehicle alongside theirs and fired multiple shots into the car, the sheriff’s office said.
Detectives believe the shooting stemmed from an altercation involving the men at a local bar on March 6.
McCary is described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall and about 175 pounds. He is known by the street name “D’Low,” deputies said.
