BRADENTON, FL — A Bradenton police officer was fired after her overnight arrest by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, authorities said.
Quinlyn Parnau, 29, faces charges of domestic battery and burglary of an occupied dwelling, the Bradenton Police Department said in a news release.
The department said the allegations stem from an off-duty domestic violence incident that occurred early Wednesday morning.
Parnau, who joined the Bradenton Police Department in 2020, was fired following her arrest, BPD said.
Bradenton Police Chief Josh Cramer addressed the arrest and termination in a statement released by the department.
"The community places its trust in the officers of the Bradenton Police Department, and any violation of that trust cannot be tolerated," Chief Josh Cramer said. "We must hold our officers to a higher standard and have a zero-tolerance policy for any acts of domestic violence by those amongst our ranks."
The sheriff’s office investigation into Parnau is ongoing.
